Local restaurant launches scholarship program funded by fried pickle appetizer sales

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) – One local restaurant launched a scholarship program funded by something “dill-iciously simple.”

That’s right, $1 from every fried pickle appetizer sold at The 5 Spot restaurants is set aside for a new scholarship fund called “Serving Success.”

According to GLGSAV, the parent company of The 5 Spot restaurants, this scholarship program provides financial assistance to current employees pursuing further education in hospitality or related fields.

The company awarded the first $2,000 Scholarship to Savannah Technical College Freshman, Jordin Watkins…
