BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The Kern County Coroner’s Office has identified a man who died after a hit-and-run crash on South H Street and Houghton Road as 26-year-old Zacarias Ecahua Chipahua of Lamont.
The California Highway Patrol said on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at around 5:18 a.m., officers were called to South H Street and Houghton Road for a two-vehicle crash.
CHP said traffic at this intersection is regulated by posted stop signs to protect motorists. According to CHP, a preliminary investigation found that a 33-year-old man was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Impala westbound on Houghton Road, east of South H Street.
