Injured person in custody after Myrtle Beach assault investigation

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — One person was taken to the hospital and then taken into custody after an apparent assault Monday evening on 63rd Avenue N. in Myrtle Beach, police said.

A News13 crew at the scene saw several law-enforcement units, including some unmarked vehicles, along with crime scene officers taking photos and entering a residence. Police tape was also visible.

Police spokesman Randolph Angotti said officers responded to the 500 block of 63rd Avenue N. shortly after 6 p.m. and that the person was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.

Authorities had left the scene by 11 p.m. No additional details about the incident were immediately available…
