HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — A proposal to shorten the operating hours of Horry County’s 25 recycling and convenience centers will get more discussion before the plan is sent to the county council for a possible vote.
A proposal to move from a mostly 12-hour operating schedule to a 10 1/2-hour schedule was presented to the Horry County Infrastructure and Regulation Committee on Tuesday morning.
The centers, which are operated by the Horry County Solid Waste Authority, are currently open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday. On Sundays, two centers are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., 18 are open from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., and five others are closed…
