Brown County Courthouse adds new security upgrades, limits entrances

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Nearly $3.5 million later, the Brown County Courthouse has installed an increase in safety measures for everyone heading inside the historic courthouse.

Starting Tuesday, the Walnut Street entrance will be the only entry point for the public. Using any other door to exit will trigger alarms. Officials say the change is meant to ensure that everyone inside the courthouse remains safe.

“We have so many people who are required to come to the courthouse; anyone who comes to the courthouse deserves to feel safe,” said presiding Judge Tammy Jo Hock of the Brown County Court.

Brown County was one of the last remaining highly populated counties in Wisconsin to add courthouse security upgrades, and local leaders say they’re excited to see the county make this change…
