Three arrested in Cooper Township drug and gun bust

COOPER TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Three people were arrested in Cooper Township after an investigation into drugs and stolen guns.

Last Thursday, Oct. 9, law enforcement officials from multiple agencies served a residential search warrant on Clato Street related to a prior stolen firearms and narcotics investigation.

  • Crime: No charges to be filed against officers who shot man during ‘violent home invasion’

Law enforcement seized a quarter pound of methamphetamine, heroin/fentanyl, and three guns, according to a press release.

Three Kalamazoo residents were arrested on outstanding warrants:

  • Scott Lapekas, 37: second-degree home invasion
  • Rebecca Patterson, 37: failure to appear in Allegan County and Friend of the Court (child support) in Kalamazoo County
  • William Ray Cowper III, 31: parole violation

Charges including possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine and heroin/fentanyl, and maintaining a drug house will be sought against multiple people, according to a release.
