Some residents oppose city’s plan for bike lanes on Goliad Road

Goliad Road is a major artery on San Antonio’s Southeast Side, with four vehicle lanes taking drivers from the Brooks master-planned community toward the busy H-E-B Plus store off Interstate 37.

The question at hand is: Should one of those lanes be removed to make room for a pair of bike lanes, along a 1.3-mile stretch between I-37 and East Southcross Boulevard?

The city of San Antonio thinks so — but many residents of the surrounding neighborhood of Highland Hills are of a differing opinion…
