Kevin Federline Alleges Britney Spears Stood Over Sleeping Sons With a Knife
Los Angeles, CA – Startling claims have emerged from Kevin Federline, pop icon Britney Spears’ ex-husband, suggesting that Spears would sometimes stand over their sleeping sons with a knife during their visits. These allegations are detailed in Federline’s forthcoming memoir, “You Thought You Knew,” according to excerpts reported by The New York Times.
Federline, a former backup dancer, recounts incidents where their sons, Sean Preston, now 20, and Jayden James, now 19, would awaken to find their mother silently observing them from the doorway, a knife in hand. “Oh, you’re awake?” she would reportedly say before turning and leaving without explanation.
These alleged occurrences, Federline states, led to the boys being afraid to stay at Spears’ residence following her 2007 split from Federline.
Representatives for Britney Spears have responded to the claims. A spokesperson for Spears told US Weekly, “With news from Kevin’s book breaking, once again he and others are profiting off her, and sadly it comes after child support has ended with Kevin.
All she cares about are her kids, Sean Preston and Jayden James, and their well-being during this sensationalism.” Fox News Digital has also reached out to Spears’ representatives for further comment.
The memoir also delves into the tumultuous period of 2007, when Spears was subjected to an involuntary psychiatric hold after a custody dispute where she refused to release the boys to Federline’s representatives. Federline, 47, described that night as “one of the hardest nights of my life,” expressing his distress over her struggles.
“This was someone I had loved. Someone I had built a life with.
The mother of my children,” he wrote.
Weeks later, another psychiatric hold led to Spears’ 13-year conservatorship and Federline gaining primary custody of their sons.
In an interview with The Times, Federline admitted to not having spoken to Spears in “years.” He voiced concerns regarding her release from the conservatorship in 2021, suggesting it might not have been a beneficial decision.
“It’s become impossible to pretend everything’s OK,” Federline penned in his memoir. “From where I sit, the clock is ticking, and we’re getting close to the 11th hour.
Something bad is going to happen if things don’t change, and my biggest fear is that our sons will be left holding the pieces.” He urged supporters of the “Free Britney” movement to now focus on a “Save Britney” movement, emphasizing that the situation is no longer about freedom, but “survival.”
Earlier this year, Spears shared a video of one of her sons playing the piano, expressing her emotional connection with a tearful “That’s my baby!” caption.
She later edited the post, adding, “Mamas don’t get enough credit at all these days !!! I mean just saying !!!
I made a person !!! A live breathing person and I made two of them !!!
And my boys are so incredibly sweet and charming !!! I’m so blessed.”
In June, she also posted a photo of a reunion with Jayden.
Despite these moments, Spears’ relationship with her sons has been complex over the years. In 2022, she posted a now-deleted Instagram message accusing her sons of being “hateful” after an interview with the Daily Mail where they discussed their relationship with her.
She wrote of their visits, “they would visit me, walk in the door, go straight to their room and lock the door !!!” adding that it “breaks my heart because it seems to me that these days, cruelty does in fact win.”
In that same interview, Jayden clarified there was “no hate” between them and his mother, but acknowledged that rebuilding their relationship would “take a lot of time and effort.” He expressed hope for her mental well-being and a future reconciliation, stating, “I 100% think this can be fixed.
I just want her to get better mentally. When she gets better I really want to see her again.”
He directly addressed his mother, saying, “I love you a lot, I hope for the best for you. Maybe one day we can sit down like this and talk again.”
Federline also confirmed in the interview that the boys independently decided not to attend Spears’ 2022 wedding to Sam Asghari, a marriage that ended in divorce a year later.
In her own 2023 memoir, “The Woman in Me,” Spears denied Federline’s claims of serious substance abuse issues, stating that during their divorce, he “tried to convince everyone that I was completely out of control.”
