Ripley declares state of emergency as reservoir levels drop

RIPLEY, N.Y. — The Town of Ripley has issued a State of Emergency due to low water levels in the Ripley Reservoir.

A mandatory water conservation order remains in place for all customers that live within the Ripley Water District.

Officials say that even though residents have reduced their water use, the lack of rainfall since early last week caused the reservoir’s levels to continue to decline…
