Matthew Mardon was killed in a car crash. At his kickball league, his memory lives on

Matthew Mardon was on his way to umpire a kickball game for friends when he died in an Albany car crash.

The 34-year-old Wynantskill resident was pulling onto Everett Road from the ramp off Interstate 90 on Sept. 30 when another vehicle slammed into him, according to police. The other driver, Matthew Merriman, 29, of Rotterdam, is accused of driving drunk at the time of the crash.

Mardon grew up in Averill Park, attended Siena College and went on to be an accountant.
