Officials say no crime occured in ATV incident that led to 3-year-old’s death in Brown County

BROWN COUNTY, Wis. (WFRV) – Officials have provided an update on the death of a three-year-old girl following an ATV crash on Friday, October 3, in Brown County.

According to the Brown County Sheriff’s Office, a 68-year-old Glenmore man failed to stop in time as he struck a steel feeding trough on his private property while riding on an ATV on October 3, around 10:40 a.m.

The man’s three-year-old granddaughter was reportedly riding in front of him on the ATV and sustained injuries, for which she was taken to St. Vincent’s Hospital via County Rescue. The girl died from her injuries.

The investigation, which officials say is now completed, impairment, speed and reckless driving don’t appear to have been involved in the incident.
