‘No Kings’ protests planned across rural southwest Missouri Saturday

SOUTHWEST MISSOURI — While Springfield is expected to draw large crowds for Saturday’s No Kings protest, several smaller demonstrations are planned across rural southwest Missouri and smaller cities.

According to the No Kings official website, protests are scheduled from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, in the following locations:

  • Ava: Private address
  • Stockton:113 South St.
  • Bolivar:102 E. Broadway St.
  • Lebanon:Walgreens, corner of Elm and Jefferson
  • Branson:West 76 Country Boulevard and Doctor Good Drive
  • West Plains:Private address
  • Nevada:W. Austin Blvd. and S. Ash Street
  • Salem: Main St. and Scenic Rivers Blvd.

The No Kings organization describes its demonstrations as peaceful and nationwide in scope.

“Our peaceful movement is only getting bigger and stronger,” the group’s website states. “‘The president thinks his rule is absolute. But in America, we don’t have kings, and we won’t back down against chaos, corruption, and cruelty. Grow our movement and join us.”…
