Louisiana woman accused of government benefits fraud

SABINE PARISH, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – A woman from the Village of Noble was arrested after state fraud investigators claimed she lied to receive medicaid benefits.

The Louisiana Bureau of Investigation (LBI) received a criminal referral from the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) related to fraud allegations against Sue Ann Rivers, 53. The state alleges that Rivers concealed her income and marital status to receive Medicaid benefits.

From October 1, 2021, through March 31, 2024, Rivers presented false information to LDH on three medicaid applications. Her failure to accurately report marital status and household income led LDH to confirm her Medicaid eligibility during the time. This confirmation led to approximately $21,958.49 in losses…
