Southern University’s 23rd Annual ‘Gala on the Bluff’ to kick off homecoming weekend

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) – Get ready for a celebration of Louisiana’s rich musical heritage—jazz, zydeco, and rhythm & blues will take center stage at this year’s star-studded 23rd Annual Gala on the Bluff, a Homecoming event filled with music, magic, and meaning.

A signature fundraiser and long-standing tradition, the Gala on the Bluff attracts more than 800 guests each year for an evening of entertainment, elegance, and impact. Proceeds from the event will be directed toward student scholarships, helping to provide access to a high-quality education for deserving students at Southern University’s College of Business.

“We also have a program within the College of Business – study abroad. We’ve had the opportunity to take some students to different parts of the world… plus we help with books. We help with tuition,” said Mrs. Agnes Andrews, All State Sponsor.

This year’s star-studded lineup will feature performances by Evelyn “Champagne” King, known for her timeless hits and powerful vocals. Joining her on stage will be Dwayne Dopsie, one of Louisiana’s most electrifying zydeco artists, and the Harry Anderson Band, bringing a rich mix of rhythm and blues to the celebration…
