Horse gets loose after Native American Day parade

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – Sioux Falls Police had some help rounding up a horse that got loose after the Native American Day parade Monday morning.

Our KELOLAND News crew captured video from the area of 15th Street and 1st Avenue, near Downtown Sioux Falls. Authorities say the horse broke free from it’s handlers and raced down Phillips Avenue.

In a post on Facebook, police said Jaquin from Santee, Nebraska chased it down. He cornered it at a home in the area and an officer helped secure his horse.

The SFPD said the horse that ran away, named Gradester, was giving the following warnings by Officer Lieuwen:

Aggravated Eluding– Speeding– At least 3-4 stop light violations– Wrong Way In Traffic– Intentional Damage to Property for eating some park grass– Trespassing for going into an unknown person’s fenced back yard…
