A string of shootings across Cincinnati yesterday has left the city on edge, with multiple injuries reported and a heightened police presence. One incident in Cincinnati’s West End near Linn Street and West Liberty Street resulted in a young man between 19-21 years old being hospitalized after sustaining a gunshot wound to the thigh, LOCAL12 News reported. Authorities, who found eight casings at the scene, have yet to disclose information regarding a suspect.
In another incident around the same time, a man was injured after a shooting on Poplar Street behind the Stanley Rowe Tower Apartments. He subsequently sought help at a nearby fire station and was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the right leg. Although he is expected to survive, this shooting is part of a broader spate of violence witnessed over eight hours in the city, as per WLWT.
Perhaps most troubling, downtown’s Fountain Square became the scene of a violent outbreak after a teenager and an adult man were shot at CityBird Tenders restaurant before 8 p.m. Cincinnati police informed that the shooting resulted from a verbal altercation that escalated when at least one person began firing.
