FAIRHOPE, Ala. (WALA) – James P. Nix, who served as the Mayor of Fairhope for 28 years, passed away peacefully at his home today, surrounded by family.
He was first elected in 1972 and served until 2000.
Nix is credited by many for giving Fairhope its modern day charm and beauty.
