After Nearly 500 Drug Overdose Deaths in SF This Year, a Promising Drop

Accidental overdose deaths in San Francisco have dropped to the lowest number so far this year.

According to the Department of Public Health, which puts out a monthly report from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, 38 people died from accidental drug overdoses in September.

That’s 10 fewer deaths than the city recorded in August. It’s also the second-lowest number since the OCME started tracking overdose deaths in 2020…
