Newbery man arrested for threatening utility workers with gun, deputies say

NEWBERRY, Fla. (WCJB) – Phillip Joseph of Newberry is facing three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The Alachua County Sheriff’s Office responded to an armed disturbance on SW 298th Street Tuesday evening where three people were working on telephone poles.

Deputies say Joseph and his wife began verbally berating the workers and say Joseph removed a handgun from a holster on his waist and aimed it at all three of the workers…
