CASCADE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Gerald R. Ford International Airport has regained its No. 1 spot on a list of the 10 best small airports in the country.
The airport near Grand Rapids earned the most votes in the USA Today 10Best poll, the results of which were released Wednesday. Twenty finalists were picked by experts and readers picked the top 10.
The poll emphasized the airport’s access to the “sprawling eastern shore of Lake Michigan,” and pointed to a “dedicated Military Welcome Center, plane-themed playrooms for younger guests, a self-serve wine wall featuring local wineries,” and spots to grab local craft beer.
