Woman wanted for murder in deadly Huntsville crash now in custody

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – A woman is in jail, facing a murder charge for allegedly causing a deadly wreck in Huntsville in February 2025.

Huntsville Area Crimestoppers officials say Chaquila Hodo was booked into the Madison County Jail on Tuesday morning on one count of murder and three counts of first-degree assault-driving under the influence.

They say she was driving in the area of Blue Springs Road and Ester Avenue when she allegedly crossed the center line and hit another car head-on.

Labronte Alexander Smith, 27, died in the crash, and five others, two adults and three children, were injured…
