Students explore skilled trades at inaugural My Future Brown County event

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Northeast Wisconsin Technical College hosted its first My Future Brown County event, giving students a full day of hands-on learning experiences.

Hosted on campus, more than 500 students from 19 area schools learned about and explored future careers in the skilled trades.

Students took part in real-world activities in fields such as construction, fire and rescue, electrical, plumbing, heavy equipment operation, cabinetry, and more.

Second Luke Combs show at Lambeau Field announced

The skilled trades are needed now more than ever, as a recent study showed the construction industry alone must recruit an estimated 439,000 new workers to meet demand in 2025.

The inaugural event was hosted by the Brown County Home Builders Association with support from more than 25 sponsors, over 35 exhibitors, and more than 45 volunteers dedicated to inspiring the next generation of the workforce…
