Coroner IDs victims in New Orleans East murder-suicide, Duncan Plaza fight, Leonidas shooting

NEW ORLEANS — The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office has identified three people killed in separate incidents across New Orleans this past week as Brenda Maricela Bueso Molina, 38, Clifton Green, 43, and Jarmone Smith, 42.

Brenda Maricela Bueso Molina

Molina was one of two people found shot to death inside an apartment in the 14700 block of Chef Menteur Highway, in the Village de L’Est neighborhood, on Oct. 8.

New Orleans police are investigating the case as a murder-suicide. The Coroner’s Office does not release the names of individuals who die by suicide.

Clifton Green

Green was killed following a fight near Duncan Plaza on the morning of Oct. 8. He was found unresponsive near the intersection of Gravier Street and Loyola Avenue and pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. His death has been ruled a homicide.

According to police, Green was involved in a physical altercation with multiple individuals. Two men, Aaron Brown, 35, and Mason Rucker, 31, were both arrested and charged with manslaughter, police said. Both remain in custody at the Orleans Justice Center.

Jarmone Smith

Smith was shot on Oct. 11 in the Leonidas neighborhood. Officers responded to the 2600 block of Cambronne Street around 6 p.m. and found Smith suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later died…
