The weather in Mississippi has been quiet lately with little rain and few storms, but that could change for much of the state later this week as a front makes its way south.
“We’ve got a cold front that’s pushing in the area this weekend,” said Eric Carpenter, senior meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Jackson. “As we get later into the fall and cooler weather, there’s greater potential for cold fronts and greater potential for storms. The fronts tend to be stronger and capable of producing severe weather.”
