SEEKONK, Mass. (WJAR) — A young driver has a long recovery ahead after being seriously injured in a drag race on Saturday.
The crash happened at Seekonk Speedway, a family venue that features shows with all kinds of racing. The normally packed and loud arena quickly fell silent after witnessing the accident.
“It all happened so fast. A car hit him from behind, and he got a little loose coming in from turn three to turn four, and then the car that tapped him went to the right and essentially pitted him to the wall,” said Alex Killeen from Seekonk who was in the stands. “His full driver side went straight on to the wall.”…
