Man in Beloit sentenced to 15 years for fatal shooting

BELOIT, Wis. — A man in Beloit was sentenced to 15 years in prison, followed by 10 years of extended supervision following a fatal shooting in May 2024.

Kevin Payne, 39, was convicted following a shooting where a group of people went to a home to continue drinking after being at the bar. An argument erupted, escalating to gunfire.  Payne who fired the shot, fled to Indiana with co-defendant Terey Vance who was later sentenced to four years in prison for aiding Payne’s escape from Wisconsin…
