The family of a San Antonio man who died in the Bexar County Jail has filed a federal lawsuit claiming that he was not properly monitored or provided medical care for his diabetes.
Ed Penix, 63, died at the jail on Oct. 10, 2023, five days after being arrested by VIA Metropolitan Transit on a charge of criminal trespassing.
