Fifth annual memorial trophy awarded for late daughter in Emmett

Whitney Eggers remembers her daughter, Blaine Eggers, a young horse rider and event competitor, as a positive presence in the Emmett community, active through 4-H, the high school dance team, and volleyball.

At the age of 20, Blaine Eggers passed away after a decade-plus battle with type 1 diabetes and Addison’s disease — a rare condition also known as primary adrenal insufficiency. Since her passing in 2020, her mother, Whitney Eggers, has focused on keeping her daughter’s memory alive through an award for horse riding competitors.
