Mobility House, Itron launch NY fleet electrification project

The Mobility House and Itron have partnered on a New York State project to demonstrate flexible service connection technology that will accelerate fleet electrification while reducing infrastructure costs.

Supported by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, the initiative integrates Itron’s IntelliFLEX DERMS platform with The Mobility House’s ChargePilot charge management system to optimize charging loads and ease grid capacity constraints, according to a Mobility House release today. The technology allows utilities to dynamically manage EV charging without expensive grid upgrades by limiting energy draw based on real-time distribution data.

The first phase will deploy five chargers for a school bus fleet in Staten Island in partnership with New York City School Bus Umbrella Services and Con Edison. The initial phase will be followed by a second phase, adding 10 chargers elsewhere…
