Apartments are getting smaller in Colorado, but especially in the city of Denver. New data from S-Line Contractors took a look at listings and determined that Denver has the fifth smallest apartments nationwide. They took a look at these listings and averaged out what the square footage is.
How Denver Apartments Compare to the Rest of the Nation
The city of Denver has an average apartment size of 971 square feet. Seattle happens to have the smallest apartments in the nation at 871 square feet.
So, we are not that far off in Colorado from having the smallest apartments in the nation.
Why Small Homes Can Be a Big Win
It is easy to focus on the disadvantages of having a small home. Personally, I prefer it. I find that when I have lived in larger homes, I end up accumulating a bunch of junk that I do not need. With smaller spaces, you have to be more practical, efficient, and intentional. I live in a house under 1,000 square feet intentionally. That will probably change if I ever have kids, though.
