EUGENE, Ore. – Eugene police made five impaired driving arrests over the past weekend, highlighting ongoing concerns about impaired driving in the community, according to the Eugene Police Department.
EPD officials said that one of the incidents occurred on Oct. 10 at 8:43 p.m. when officers observed a Ram pickup speeding on Danebo Avenue. The driver, identified as 46-year-old Jermaine Ignatious Richards, was arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants after further investigation.
Another significant case unfolded on Oct. 11 at 5:18 p.m. A crash on N. Delta Highway involved a Toyota 4Runner rear-ending a Toyota Matrix. After an investigation of the incident, the 4Runner’s driver, identified as 26-year-old Jordan Hurtado from Salem, was arrested for DUII and Reckless Endangering. Later that day, at 7:36 p.m., officers responded to another crash at North Delta Highway and Ayres Drive. Police arrested 43-year-old Brandis Nicole Zaring on multiple charges, including DUII, after she allegedly drove into oncoming traffic…
