Mold issues force the Chattanooga Police Department to close its public lobby

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn — The Chattanooga Police Department has temporarily closed its public lobby at its main headquarters on Amnicola Highway after mold was discovered during a facility assessment, officials announced Friday.

The closure, which took effect immediately, is a precaution to protect both staff and the public, according to the department.

Professional evaluations are now underway, and cleanup efforts are expected to begin soon.
