Fort Branch gas leak victims identified

GIBSON COUNTY, Ind. (WEHT) — Some are questioning their homes safety after one person died from suspected carbon monoxide poisoning in Fort Branch.

“I believe this is a tragic accident in an isolated instance,” Gibson County Sheriff Bruce Vanoven said. “I can’t stress enough that homeowners and people working in their homes or businesses have proper detection devices in case there’s harmful gases.”

Sheriff Vanoven says 24-year-olds Dylan Coston and Faith Brown were found in the bottom of a basement staircase following an unknown medical call. Both were contractors working in the home all day. Coston was pronounced dead on the scene while brown was in critical condition.
