INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indianapolis native Shontae Davidson has turned a tragedy into something sweet.

She opened up a candy shop in the city’s east side. The business has a beautiful mural in honor of her 5-month-old cousin who died from gun violence 17 years ago.

Charlii Yarell’s life was cut short in January 2008. She, her mother, her mother’s friend, and that friend’s son were shot in a robbery that quickly turned into murder. Charlii was shot seven times in what was called the Hovey Street murders…
