Lancaster retail theft suspect allegedly threatens to shoot person trying to stop them before leaving store

LANCASTER, Pa. — A Lancaster man was charged after he reportedly threatened to shoot someone when they confronted him while stealing items from Target.

The Manheim Township Police Department was dispatched to Target on the 1500 block of Fruitville Pike on Sept. 29 for a report of an alleged retail theft that had escalated with threatening behavior.

The victim reported to police that they saw the suspect, later identified as Mateen Brown, 21, take JLAB earbuds and three packs of Plan B contraceptives. As the suspect began to walk out of Target, the victim reportedly tried to stop him and tell him to go to the Loss Prevention office…
