Teen allegedly steals gun holster by hiding it in waistband at Walmart

A Leesburg teen was arrested after allegedly stealing a gun holster from Walmart and trying to leave in a truck.

An officer responded to Walmart, located at 2501 Citrus Blvd., for a theft involving 19-year-old Travis Johnel Gibson around 2:45 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department.

A loss prevention employee advised that Gibson refused to stop and left the store in a red truck with a female and two other males. He was last seen leaving the parking lot near the garden area of the store, the report said.

Upon arrival, the officer spotted a red Ford truck heading toward Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. The employee was still on the phone with dispatch, saying the vehicle was passing Murphy’s gas station. The truck matched this description and was stopped on Tally Road, the report said…
