Ex-Raleigh charter school teacher accused of defrauding the U.S. Department of Education of thousands of dollars

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — After a five year long investigation, the daughter of Torchlight Academy Charter School‘s CEO is facing charges fraud charges.

Shawntrice Andrews, is accused of defrauding the U.S. Department of Education out of thousands of dollars.

Andrews was arrested and charged Thursday. According to arrest warrants, she is alleged to have falsified documents for Torchlight Academy and defrauded the U.S. Department of Education out of $9,350.50…
