North Highlands woman finally exits Montana timeshare after years of frustration | Dollars & Sense

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A North Highlands woman said she’s finally free from years of frustration tied to a timeshare she could no longer use.

Patricia Lynn Cordeiro, a 78-year-old retired nurse, said she bought the timeshare at Meadow Lake Resorts in Montana more than two decades ago for $15,000. But after becoming partially disabled, she and her family stopped visiting, leaving her responsible for thousands of dollars in annual maintenance fees.

“I had 20 years of wonderful trips with my timeshare,” Cordeiro said. “Aside from the ongoing maintenance fees and the no exit strategy, it was good, but those really do bag you down.”…
