Investigators have determined that a house fire on Valley Drive in Syracuse was caused by a child playing with fire. The incident occurred on Tuesday (October 14) afternoon and resulted in the displacement of eight residents. The Syracuse Fire Department reported that the fire originated on a second-floor porch at the back of the house.
First responders arrived quickly, encountering heavy smoke and flames. They managed to bring the fire under control within 20 minutes and declared it fully extinguished after about an hour. Fortunately, all occupants, including six adults and two children, evacuated safely, and no injuries were reported.
