Wilmington City Council approved money to be spent on validating the results of the recent property value reassessment, along with protections for residents who saw their taxes vault this year.
City Councilman Coby Owens’ measure would stop the city from declaring a Sherriff’s Sale on any property, residential or commercial, that saw its property tax bill go up 25% or more following the reassessment.
