First Alert Weather Day: Storms Bring Overnight Severe Threat Saturday

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) -We’ve issued First Alert Weather Days for Saturday night into Sunday morning as rain and thunderstorms move in after 8 PM Saturday, lingering into the early morning hours of Sunday. The severe threat remains isolated, but all hazards will be in play across the area. A line of storms is expected to develop, with damaging winds and large hail as the main threats, and a quick spin-up tornado can’t be ruled out. The severe threat is expected to end by around 6 AM Sunday. We’ll continue to monitor the system closely as it approaches.

A big cool down is on the way next week, with highs returning to around average for this time of year. Overnight lows will feel more comfortable as well, with dry and pleasant conditions expected for much of the week…
