JPSO deputy fires weapon in Marrero after being rammed by alleged burglary suspects

MARRERO, La. (WVUE) – A Jefferson Parish deputy fired at a burglary suspect who is still on the run in Marrero, Sheriff Joe Lopinto said Wednesday afternoon (Oct. 15).

Two of three suspects in the incident — a man and a woman whose identities were not immediately disclosed — were brought into custody without injury after the shots were fired, Lopinto said.

It was not known whether the third suspect was wounded before escaping the scene near the Westbank Expressway and Barataria Boulevard. The deputy involved in the shooting was not injured…
