Sentencing day for Kan. mother who admitted killing 16-year-old son

SEDGWICK COUNTY— A Kansas woman who called 911 to report shooting her son in October of 2024 is expected to learn her fate on Friday.

Tesha Florence, 46, Wichita will attend a sentencing hearing in Judge Eric Williams courtroom, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s office.

In August, Florence pleaded no contest to charges of second degree murder, aggravated assault and aggravated burglary, according to the District Attorney’s office.

On October 9, 2024, Sedgwick County Emergency Communications received a 911 call from Florence reporting that she shot her son, according to Wichita Police Captain Aaron Moses…
