Man sentenced for 2013 attack in Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A New Mexico man will spend the next decade behind bars for violently attacking his mom and throwing her into the Rio Grande in 2013. In June 2013, Martin Montano attacked his mom and her roommate in their northeast Albuquerque home. Court documents said Montano slit their throats, kidnapped them, and took them to the Central Avenue bridge.

Montano threw his mom off the bridge into the Rio Grande, but was stopped before he could throw her friend over. In 2016, Montano claimed he was trying to kill them because they were clones. Both women survived.
