Authorities rescue over 50 dogs from suspected dogfighting ring in Goose Creek home raid

GOOSE CREEK, S.C. (WCIV) — Authorities rescued more than 50 dogs from what they described as deplorable conditions at a Goose Creek home this week, where investigators say they also found evidence of possible dogfighting.

The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals after discovering the animals, many of which were malnourished and suffering from untreated injuries.

“We found and removed more than 50 dogs living in inhumane conditions,” said Amanda Kruczynski with the ASPCA. “Four of them needed to be removed immediately for emergency veterinary care because of their conditions.”…
