Red Devils fall at West Bladen

BLADENBORO — Four quick goals by West Bladen resulted in a big early deficit for the Red Springs boys soccer team Wednesday, and the Red Devils never recovered in a 6-1 loss to the Knights.

“All of them were gift-wrapped, and we handed it to them,” Red Springs coach Adam Deese said. “Our approach in this game was lackluster, and it showed. Credit to West Bladen, they came out and they outplayed us, they outworked us, and it showed.”

Red Springs (9-7, 4-2 Southeastern Athletic Conference) falls into a tie for first place in the conference standings with Whiteville and South Brunswick. The Red Devils split two meetings with South Brunswick, and both remaining regular-season games are against Whiteville, with the first next Monday in Red Springs…
