Barber National Institute holds not-so spooky but special adult dance

Friday night the Barber National Institute held a special expanding social opportunities not-so-spooky adult dance at Gannon University.

The institute partners with local universities a few times a year to hold ‘eso’ dances that allow those with intellectual disabilities to interact with each other and other college students.

ZooBoo returns to community’s delight for Halloween 2025

These students volunteer their time and promote interaction with the dancers for a fun and casual time.

“It’s important for them to be out in the community with everybody and kind of have the similar experience that everybody else is having in the community, especially peers that are their age. At the universities and our individuals, we have a range from 18 to 30 plus years old, and it’s just formed a nice friendship and bond with everybody,” said Jaclyn Zacherl, the family focus services director for the Barber National Institute…
