CLINTON COUNTY, Mich. (WJRT) – A woman convicted of driving drunk and crashing into a group of 16 people walking along Clinton County roadway in May 2024 will spend decades behind bars.
Ashley Monroe, 36, received a sentence of 30 to 60 years in prison on Wednesday. She pleaded no contest to one count of second-degree murder and eight counts of operating while intoxicated causing serious injuries.
Monroe received credit for 515 days already spent behind bars, which will be deducted from her prison sentence. She also is ordered to pay more than $74,000 worth of restitution, fines and court costs…
