DeKalb Police Shoot Teenage Girl in Armed Encounter

Stone Mountain, GA – At the request of the DeKalb County Police Department (DKPD), GBI agents are investigating an officer-involved shooting that resulted in a teenage girl being shot. No officers were injured in the incident.

Preliminary reports indicate that at approximately 2:35 p.m., DKPD officers responded to a call regarding an armed person in the area of 2000 Treehills Parkway in Stone Mountain, GA. Upon arrival, officers encountered two teenagers.

While approaching the teens, one officer removed a firearm from the waistband of the teenage boy. A second officer observed an object in the waistband of the teenage girl and identified it as a firearm. Commands were issued for her to drop the gun.
