Stone Mountain, GA – At the request of the DeKalb County Police Department (DKPD), GBI agents are investigating an officer-involved shooting that resulted in a teenage girl being shot. No officers were injured in the incident.
Preliminary reports indicate that at approximately 2:35 p.m., DKPD officers responded to a call regarding an armed person in the area of 2000 Treehills Parkway in Stone Mountain, GA. Upon arrival, officers encountered two teenagers.
While approaching the teens, one officer removed a firearm from the waistband of the teenage boy. A second officer observed an object in the waistband of the teenage girl and identified it as a firearm. Commands were issued for her to drop the gun. Instead, the girl lifted her shirt to reveal the weapon and began reaching for it. In response, the officer discharged their firearm, striking the teenage girl…
