MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – A proposed crackdown on downtown blight is headed for a vote Tuesday, but maybe not in its present form.
Mobile City Councilman Ben Reynolds said he is pushing for several changes, including provisions he said make it less onerous for responsible property owners. And one property owner said he hopes for changes that account for the cost, time and difficulty of redeveloping long-vacant structures in a historic district.
